We receive most if not all of this information from your insurance broker, who may also use the information to help with your overall insurance program or to market additional products and services to you. We may also use your information to offer you other products or services that we or our affiliates provide.

Not all of the products and services described on this web site are available in all geographic areas of the United States, or you may not be eligible for all of the insurance products and services described in this web site. GNY reserves the right to determine all eligibility for such products and services in its sole discretion.

INFORMATION GNY INSURANCE COMPANIES COLLECTS

The only information GNY Insurance Companies collects from web site users, including brokers, is contained within electronic mails web site users voluntarily send to us.

We invite job seekers, members of the press, and others with general inquiries to contact GNY by electronic mail with links through the website, information@gny.com. Electronic mail sent to that address is received by GNY Insurance Companies' Human Resources Department. GNY Insurance Companies does not collect any of information it receives via information@gny.com in any database. In addition, GNY Insurance Companies does not knowingly collect any information from minors.

 

NOTICE TO CONNECTICUT CLAIMANTS CONCERNING THE COLLECTION OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS

 

We comply with Connecticut's General Statutes, Title 42, § 42-470 and § 42-471, and do not do any of the following, which are prohibited or restricted by § 42-470 in your State:

 

(1) We do not publicly post or publicly display in any manner an individual's Social Security number;

 

(2) We do not print an individual's Social Security number on any card required for the individual to access products or services provided for that person;

We do collect, use, and release Social Security numbers as required by State or federal law, and for internal verification, investigation, and administrative purposes. We refer you to § 42-470 (d), which provides: "This section does not prevent the collection, use or release of a Social Security number as required by state or federal law or the use of a Social Security number for internal verification or administrative purposes."

 

We collect Social Security numbers on all claimants who have made a claim for bodily injury or medical expenses with our companies. Not only is this information necessary for us to uniquely identify each claimant, but we are legally required to use these numbers in providing information to the United States government, including Medicare, to identify persons to whom, or to whose health providers or related persons, we have made payment or are being requested to make payment.

PRODUCER AND PRODUCER PORTAL

GNY Insurance Companies believes that its insureds and potential insureds are best served by working with a producer to procure insurance policies from GNY Insurance Companies. Therefore, GNY Insurance Companies does not sell insurance directly to the public or collect any personal information directly from the public. Except in those states that require the use of agents, GNY accepts business only through independent producers who are not agents of GNY Insurance Companies. To locate a producer in your area, please click here. Your producer has access to GNY's producer portal on GNY's website, through which your producer may (1) forward an electronic mail to GNY Insurance Companies and (2) view reports including your Billing Statements, Loss Runs, and Production Reports. You should discuss what information your producer will and will not submit to GNY Insurance Companies by this web site.

The only information GNY Insurance Companies collects on the website from web site users, including brokers, is contained within electronic emails web site users voluntarily send to us. 

HOW THE DATA GNY INSURANCE COMPANIES COLLECTS IS STORED AND PROTECTED

GNY Insurance Companies is committed to the safety and security of your personal information. E-mail submissions over the Internet may not be secure and are subject to the risk of interception by third parties. Please consider this fact before e-mailing any information. Though we cannot guaranty that your information is secure, we have taken extraordinary steps to protect your information. GNY Insurance Companies collects data by way of the producer portal on its webpage. The producer portal requires the producer to log in by a producer-specific identification name and password. The information on the additional users is stored in a MYSQL database and is used to authenticate the users when they log in and to return to them the correct access to areas of the portal that include reports and content. This information is protected by being on a separate, non-public-facing server that is behind a firewall and which can only be accessed by people with correct security rights.

You agree not to submit or transmit any e-mails or materials through the web site that (i) are defamatory, threatening, obscene or harassing, (ii) contain a virus, worm, Trojan horse, or any other harmful component, (iii) incorporate copyrighted or other proprietary material of any third party without that party's permission, or (iv) otherwise violate any applicable laws.
